We have had an absolutely lovely weekend…compete with four seasons!
On Friday afternoon, we drove down to the coast in the pouring rain…our freeways are not good when it is wet…add big trucks and it can be a slightly hair raising experience.
But we made it and the rain kindly cleared in time so we could get out and have a walk…love getting lungs full of fresh salty air.
However, it was Saturday that was the gem of the weekend…clear skies, sunny and warm…too warm for this time of year, but I am loving it.
It was almost like a summer’s day when we went for a long walk along the beach…the only hint it was autumn was the sun being lower in the sky, and the freezing water!
I even went for a run along the beach…not too far but further than I have gone before.
The good weather allowed me to get out some of my film cameras…I took my 1971 Yashica Mat-124G and a 1954 Zeiss Ikon Contina…two vintage cameras from different eras, using different formats…
The Zeiss Ikon was given to me by my father in law, and my husband had fun learning how to use it…
We then went for a leisurely drive with the pups after lunch, to check out a few other coastal towns…we had our furry navigator..
Then it was time for a lazy afternoon, with the furkids dozing in their beds, worn out by their walk and drive.
A BBQ dinner and to bed, after watching our beloved Geelong Cats win by 120 points….go Cats!
Then in the early hours of the morning, a big storm hit…lightening, thunder, rain….the lot.
And to my great annoyance, I was not able to capture a good shot…which was made worse when I discovered a local photographer had captured an amazing image not far from where we were!
One day, I will be in the right spot at the right time, with the right equipment, and I will get that elusive lightning shot!
We woke to a very wet and windy Sunday, but were able to get out for a walk while getting only a little bit damp.
And it was worth braving the elements, because as we got to the lighthouse, we saw a gorgeous rainbow….
All too soon, it was time to pack the car up and head home….a perfect weekend before jumping into another busy week!
